How do I stick to a workout routine?
Routines usually fail from asking too much too soon. Pick what you want to be able to do and by when, then build toward it gradually, on days that fit the life you actually have.
Work backward in five steps
Picture the result
Choose something concrete, like walking a 5K without stopping or training three days a week.
Choose a date
A race, a trip, or simply a day on the calendar gives the plan an end point.
Start smaller than you think
Your first sessions should feel almost too easy. The early goal is showing up.
Book the sessions
Put workouts on your calendar like appointments, on days you can realistically keep.
Review and adjust
Check in at the halfway point. Keep what is working and change what is not.
Where people get stuck
Missing a session does not end the plan. Pick it back up at the next scheduled session rather than trying to make up for it.
